Mission Statement: Kids Home International is a non-profit
humanitarian organization that seeks to improve the quality of lives of the
homeless and orphaned kids through programs designed to develop their
spirit, mind and body, so they can realize their full potential in the
society.
Quick Facts
Kids Home International’s purpose is to reach out to the homeless, orphaned
and exploited kids in Kenya with a loving and nurturing orphanage, and
through select programs that target urban areas.
The sad statistics:
- Human Rights Watch Group estimates that there are up to 600,000 street
kids in Kenya most of them orphaned through AIDS
- And an estimated 1 million children living with HIV
- An estimated 700 children are orphaned everyday. Most of these kids
withdraw from school because of lack of extended family support
- Girls are the most disadvantaged due to cultural attitudes. They are
then forced into prostitution in order to sustain themselves
Kids Home International hopes to play a role of providing a future one
child at a time through the following programs:
* Human Services * Education * Health Services
* Spiritual Programs * Placement * Extra-Curricular Activities
Goal
Kids Home International will strive to establish a safe and secure place
that enables children to receive tender care and loving support.
How Can You Work Alongside Us In This Effort?
You can do so in a variety of ways:
- Volunteerism - KHI welcomes volunteers to help
fulfill our mission here and abroad.
- Donations - We are not accepting toys, clothes,
school bags, shoes, and stationery at this time due to limited storage
space.
- Gifts- We can help you with estate giving or
property donations.
- Health Services- KHI in partnership with Crosslink
International, a Christian organization will procure medical equipment and
medical supplies to meet our health services program. KHI needs your help
in meeting storage & freight charges.
- Child Sponsorship- Although our main goal is to
establish a structured environment where the children can call home, we do
welcome and encourage child sponsorship. We will provide you with a list
of children, their photographs, history and immediate needs. Once you
decide to sponsor a child, you will get yearly updates, including a letter
from the child you are sponsoring. For only $25 a month, you can feed,
clothe and provide school supplies for a child!
-
Financial- We
welcome any financial contributions. Kids Home International is organized
exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific
purposes as specified in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code,
or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Therefore,

Every child deserves a chance - a chance to live, a chance to love and be
loved, a chance to learn, and a chance to grow into a happy and productive
adult. Unfortunately, too many are denied a chance for these basic human
rights.
